About "Coach cass"
Athletic Background: Played 4 years of high school basketball at powerhouse Mount Notre Dame located in Cincinnati, OH. Went on play basketball at Ohio Northern University for 2 years. Played a total of 13 years of basketball, 8 years of softball, and 2 years of lacrosse.
Coaching Background: Became a Women's Basketball Student Assistant Coach at Ohio Northern University after my sophomore season because I needed to have surgery on both ankles. During this time I was in charge of all our social media accounts, setting up practices, game day preparations, and assisting with the guards. Our overall record my four years at ONU was 91-20 with 2 OAC Regular Season Championships, 1 OAC Tournament Championship, 2 OAC Tournament Championship Runner-Ups, and 2 trips to the NCAA Division III Tournament. While attending Ohio University in 2015-2016 for grad school, I was the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach for Hocking College. Hocking College is a JUCO school located in Nelsonville, OH. This was the first year ever for athletics at the college so we built the program from scratch. I assisted in practice planning, scouting, recruiting, game day preparations, marketing, travel, budgeting, and player development. In 2017-2018, I became an Assistant Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Purcell Marian High School located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Purcell is a Division III school in the GCL-CoEd. During this season we finished with an overall record of 18-7 as well as winning the GCL-CoEd league title for the first time in school history for girls basketball. We went on to being named OHSAA Division III Sectional Champions and OHSAA Division III District Runner-Ups. While at Purcell I assisted in scouting, film, shoot-around preparations, meals, working with the guards, and our overall defensive strategies. After one season at Purcell, I was approached with a job opportunity to work at the Division I high school, Mercy McAuley, as the Head JV Basketball Coach while also assisting with Varsity. During Mercy McAuley's JV inaugural 2018-2019 season, my JV team finished with an overall record of 18-2 and tied for first in the GGCL with a 7-1 record. Mercy McAuley Varsity finished with an overall record of 20-5, second in the GGCL, OHSAA Division I Sectional Champions, OHSAA Division I District Champions, and OHSAA Division I Regional Qualifier. While working with Mercy McAuley varsity, I assisted in practices, scouting, player development and game day statistics. In January 2019, I assisted in the formation of the girls basketball travel program, Cincy Nation, where I coached the 2022 team while also assisting with the 2021 team.
Education: I graduated with my Bachelor's of Science degree from Ohio Northern University in 2015. I graduated with my Master's in Recreation and Sport Sciences degree from Ohio University in 2016. I am currently finishing my M.B.A in Sport Management from Tiffin University.
Current Job: I am entering my second season as Mercy McAuley's Head JV Basketball Coach while still assisting with Varsity. I am also the Associate Director for Cincy Nation and in the process of transitioning to coaching the 2021 team. I also create all the graphics for Mercy McAuley Basketball's social media and assist with the social media for Cincy Nation.
